At its core, mentoring is about providing three Ss – a safe pair of ears, a sounding board, and a source of possible solutions. It can be a powerful source of support, especially for those going through a time of transition or change in their professional lives.
How can you ensure that as a mentor you are providing the best possible support for your mentee? And as a mentee, how best can you ensure that you will get the most out of the relationship? Preparation, Communication and Planning are key strategies for success in professional or workplace mentoring.
What will the Webinar cover?
Preparation
We will help you explore best practice in establishing a mentoring relationship as well as looking at different mentoring styles.
Communication
We will look at the communication skills necessary for a successful mentoring relationship, particularly listening and questioning skills. We’ll explore some common pitfalls in the mentoring relationship and how to avoid them.
Planning
We will explore how to ensure your relationship remains on track with a mentoring plan.
Who is the Webinar for?
The workshop is suitable for anyone currently in a professional mentoring relationship or considering embarking on this in the future. It will cover the perspective of the mentor as well as the mentee.

The Taste 4 Success Skillnet started out with a small group of 16 companies in 1999 based in the north west of Ireland, and since then it has grown its membership to over four hundred active members across a national base.

Katharine designs and delivers workshops and eLearning programmes for mentors and mentees as well as designing and managing mentoring programmes for organisations. Katharine works with corporate and community sector clients and professional membership organisations, as well as Higher Education Institutions. Katharine believes in the power of mentoring to achieve transformational change and has seen first-hand how preparation and training can have a significant impact on this success.
